Spain is a famously gay-friendly destination. Homosexuality is legal and same-sex marriage has been legal since 2005. The age of consent is 16, as it is for heterosexuals (raised from 13 in 2015). Ibiza is hugely LGBT friendly, with flamboyant parades and a particularly famous gay night, La Troya, now hosted by Heart in Ibiza Marina. The island's LGBT scene is centred on Ibiza Town's Carrer de la Verge, and a visit to any of its bars will quickly have you filled in on where's hot this season. At the time of writing, popular LGBT bars/clubs in Ibiza Town included Lola's, Sunrise, Soap at Dome and Angelo. On Ibiza's southeast coast, Es Cavallet is the island's prime gay beach, home to the fabulously named Chiringay bar-restaurant.
