The Region in a Day

  • 1 day

Start your day at a cafe on Plaça des Parc or Passeig de Vara de Rey, lingering over the quintessential Ibizan breakfast of coffee and tostada (toasted baguette-style bread) smeared with tomato, oil and garlic. Pop into the Mercat Vell then meander up into the historic, World Heritage–listed Dalt Vila, exploring its museums, viewpoints, ramparts and cathedral.

Later stroll across, or hop on a shuttle boat, to Marina Botafoc for a dose of yacht envy and fabulous city panoramas before lunch at health-mad Passion or seaside Bar Flotante. Then find your patch of golden sand on Platja de Talamanca and lounge away the afternoon.

Ibiza Town at night is something to behold. Wander around the Port Area, dipping into island-chic boutiques such as Ibiza Bagús or Babaz. Dine at Locals Only or up in Dalt Vila at S'Escalinata then stroll along the lively harbour front, pausing to soak up the scene over a drink at The Rock. Bar-hop your way through packed-out Carrer de la Verge, Ibiza's LGBT village, before jumping in a taxi or tottering over to Pacha to dance the rest of the night away.
