The walks linking these villages along the GR7 is full of variety. Forest, cultivated land, gorges, streams and irrigation channels are complemented with the sleepy white villages. The tour includes the guiding, 3* hotels, airport transfers, local transport to/from trail heads and back up vehicles. Food is excluded but local shops offer great variety! Day 1GR7 Lanjarón to BubiónAscending slowly up along the GR7, the route takes us through the quiet white villages of Cañar and Soportujar before arriving at the gateway to the Poqueira Gorge. We then take a steep rise up to Pampaneira and onto the village of Bubión which is perched on the side of the gorge.Day 2Round of the Barranco de Poqueira, CapileiraA circular walking tour of the exciting and dramatic, Poqueira gorge (Barranco de Poqueira). After progressing through Capileira we descend down to the valley bottom and follow the winding path as we make our way up, along the river. Reaching Cortijo Tomas we turn west and follow on a higher path to the western side before declining down to the river. A final steep climb brings us back to Capileira and Bubión.Day 3Circular walk in La Taha del PitresA series of whitewashed villages. Going down through Mecina Fondales and Fondales before we cross the Rio Trevelez and climb up steep zig zags to the ridge-line at the top. We then turn east which offers superlative views of the Sierra Nevada. A final steep descent passing smallholdings with various fruits on the trees brings us to the village of Busquístar.Day 4 Rio Culo Perro and the Rio Trevelez ValleyA splendid walks which runs alongside Rio Trevelez valley to the Refugio Horcajo where the Rio Juntillas connects from the left. This well marked path is used regularly by the “vaqueros” (mule men) and their dogs to make their daily trip up the valley to tend to their cattle.Day 5GR7 Trevelez to BusquistarA moderate walk along the GR7, starting with a gradual rise but on well graded tracks, we head south out of the village and up through bosky and diverse scenery. Heading down a steep descent into the Barranco de la Bina before we climb out the other side and continuing down to the white village of Busquistar.Day 6Walk to visit Siete LagunasA challenging walk to the end of our holiday for those with the energy to make this ascent, you'll be glad you did as it is very rewarding. Siete Laguans is a series of higher lakes located in a valley. This beautiful area is surrounded by the views of Mulhacen and Alcazaba, the highest peaks of mainland Spain.
