Almost everyone’s on a package deal in Benidorm, so hotel accommodation can be expensive for the independent traveller. There's a huge number of apartment rentals and some characterful hotel and hostal (budget hotel) choices in the old town.
In general Benidorm isn’t renowned for fine dining, but in fact there's quite a concentration of decent eating around the edges of the old town. Calle Santo Domingo is great for tapas, with wall-to-wall eateries, many doing Basque-style pintxos (elaborate canapé-like tapas). Calle La Palma, a short stroll further east, has a number of international restaurants.
Drinking & Nightlife
Benidorm has literally hundreds of bars. All have a slightly different style and feel but they're generally loud and brash. The old town is the centre of Benidorm's thriving LGBT scene and there are numerous gay bars here.
The beach has all-night bar and club action, while the mega discotecas are on Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana on the outskirts of town.
