Tour description

This comprehensive Las Palmas day tour highlights the local side of Las Palmas and shows you the best undiscovered gems the city has to offer. You’ll visit busy Las Canteras beach, dive into local neighbourhoods, and check out a wild nature park. Forget the tourist trail and spend your day like locals do! Start with a Canarian breakfast and explore the hidden side of the Las Canteras area. Walk all the way to the north to discover La Isleta nature park, and hike to a rocky beach to have a delicious picnic surrounded by nature.

This tour combines two of our most popular Gran Canaria tours: Behind Las Canteras and Wild Las Palmas Beach Picnic, to make up one perfect day out!          Your epic day in Gran Canaria’s colourful capital starts in the Las Canteras area, famous for having one of the best urban beaches in Europe. Canarians love Las Canteras Beach as much as tourists do, but they spend their time in that area a little differently. So we suggest leaving the pack behind and joining us to hang out with the locals!Fuel up for your adventure with a typical Canarian coffee and delicious local breakfast at one of our favourite places. Get to know hidden gems of the area, including local squares, street art, and markets that most tourists don’t even notice or ever end up visiting. On the way, you’ll learn about the city’s past and the locals who have changed the area’s history, but about whom no books have been written. You’ll feel the slow pace of local life when passing by a picturesque urban garden, Plaza de Farray, and finally Mercado del Puerto.Just a few metres behind busy Las Canteras beach you’ll discover quiet, locally loved La Isleta, once a dodgy port village that is now becoming a hip, exciting part of town. We’ll take a walk along the coast and enter wild and rough La Isleta nature park where you’ll be surprised at how rapidly the landscape changes, from busy city life to uninhabited moon-like terrain. While in the area we’ll make a stop at El Confital Beach, loved by skilled surfers and bodyboarders from around the world. We’re willing to bet you might be getting hungry by this point, so we’ll stop to enjoy a picnic made from local ingredients, sitting by a rocky beach enjoying views out to sea. Finally, we’ll walk back along the coast, admiring the stunning landscapes of the hilly and wild northern coast of Las Palmas and Gran Canaria. Before you go, don’t forget to tap up your local guide for the latest happenings in Gran Canaria, to ensure you get the most out of your trip.
