Malaysian Borneo

The other Malaysia, the states of Sabah and Sarawak share the island of Borneo with Brunei and Indonesia's Kalimantan. Here, on cruises along rainforest-cloaked rivers, you can encounter some of Southeast Asia's wildest inhabitants: chattering gibbons, ponderous orangutans and the myriad indigenous cultures who share their jungle home. But it's not all rivers and rainforest. Around the fringes of this waterlogged wonderland are the cosmopolitan cities of Kuching (Sarawak) and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), and dive boats buzz the coastline, exploring some of Southeast Asia's best stocked coral reefs.
