I Love Sindangdong

Korean in Dongdaemun & Eastern Seoul

The tteokbokki at this raucous restaurant comes in bubbling saucepans as part of a witches brew of rice cakes, fish cake, instant ramen, vegies, egg and tofu in a volcanic sauce. It's pure, junky comfort food and great fun; you can pay extra to pimp it up with seafood and cheese. Also on offer are gimbap (Korean sesame-oil flavoured rice wrapped in seaweed), cheap draught beer and occasional live music.

Open since 2001, it's hands down the most popular eatery at Sindang-dong Tteobokki Town.
