Experience the iconic Garden Route that extends from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape. Highlights include: Mossel bay, Tsitsikamma's deep river gorges, classic coastlines, valleys and forests, Cango wildlife reserve, Knysna, Plettenberg bay and beaches.
ItineraryDay 1: Cape Town to OudtshoornStop At: OudtshoornWe depart Cape Town at about 08:00 in the morning and head toward Du Toit’s Kloof Mountain pass. This route takes us through the beautiful towns of Robertson, Montagu and Ladysmith. En-route we stop for some wine tasting and lunch. Later on, in the journey we go through the Little Karoo where you observe a semi-desert like scenery. We arrive at Hotel in Oudtshoorn, where we will overnight. Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world.Duration: 12 hoursNo meals included on this day.Accommodation included: We overnight at Karoo Soul. Shared AccommodationDay 2: Cango CavesStop At: The Russel HotelAfter a breakfast we visit the renowned Cango Caves where we take a spectacular and enlightening guided tour. From the Caves we travel to an Ostrich farm further from Oudtshoorn. You will receive a tour of a practical Ostrich farm where you will learn moreabout their habits. We will also visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch to learn more about crocodile, cheetah, reptiles and the other animals onsite. We later head towards the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains in Knysna. As we drive over mountain passes, we will witness the unique geological features. Possibly the most beautiful part of the Garden Route in South Africa, Nature’s Valley is unique in that it lies nestled in the Tsitsikamma National Park coastal forest, – the only residential area within a South African National Park. We will spend time enjoying the picturesque area covered in large tracts of indigenous forest, deep river gorges,commercial plantation and Fynbos. Later we proceed to Mossel Bay, visiting the Post Office Tree and Diaz museum where early sailors left mail for the homebound ships to Europe. We travel via the rolling hills off Swellendam en-route to Cape Town.
