4-Day Garden Route: Port Elizabeth to Cape Town via Klein Karoo

Day 1: Port Elizabeth to Knysna. (D) Head westwards along the Garden Route, which follows the Indian Ocean coastline and is bordered inland by soaring mountain ranges and indigenous forests. Visit Tsitsikamma Park and Storms River Mouth. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Knysna. Day 2: Knysna (B, L) Enjoy the shops and atmosphere of this quaint town before joining a lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to top of Western Head and walk back through Milkwood trees for lunch. Overnight in Knysna. Day 3: Knysna to Oudtshoorn (B) Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the centre of the world’s Ostrich farming industry. You’ll visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before taking a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Late afternoon you will travel to your hotel in time to check in and relax before dinner (for own account). Overnight in Oudtshoorn. Day 4: Oudtshoorn to Franschhoek to Cape Town (B) Enjoy an early morning meerkat safari (optional & for own account). After this thrilling experience, head back for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, the journey continues through the "Little Karoo" to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. (The school visit is subject to the school being open.) Continue to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards, where French Huguenots settled more than 300 years ago. Here you will disembark the tour and be transferred (with a driver only) to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain. The journey ends on arrival in Cape Town. Day 01 - Depart from Cape Town in the morning hours and travel with your private driver/guide - or with a group - via Worcester, Du Toits Kloof Mountain Pass. At Worcester there will be a visit to a fascinating open air museum. Lunch with wine tasting will be arranged at a restaurant in Montagu. After lunch travel through the mountains to the semi-desert,the Little-Karoo. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: at a 3-star hotel in Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital  Day 02 - After breakfast visit the Cango Caves and Crocodile Farm before tour will take you to the most famous ostrich farm of the city. After the interesting presentation and show, lunch will be served at the restaurant of the ostrich farm. Travel via the beautiful Queteniqua mountain, Pass down to Knysna. See the spectacular Knysna Heads.  Overnight: at a 4-star hotel next to the lagoon, with breakfast, Knysna.   Day 03 - Upon breakfast enjoy some free time in the Knysna Waterfront. This will be followed by a 2.5 hour boat trip on the Keurbooms. Picnic lunch on the beaches before driving to Mossel Bay to the famous Post Tree and Barthomolez Diaz Museum. Afternoon, spend time at swimming in the pool or stroll along the beach. Garden Route 4-Day Guided Tour from Cape Town

Day 1: Cape Town to OudtshoornStart the tour around 7:30am from Cape Town. If you are staying in Stellenbosch, you can also be collected from there around an hour later. Continue along Route 62 passing through Montagu and Barrydale, and experience an ostrich farm before ending the day at your hotel in Oudtshoorn.Overnight: Queens Hotel or SimilarDay 2: KnysnaThis morning we visit the amazing Cango Caves before heading through the scenic Outeniqua Pass onto George, and then we are officially on The Garden Route. Four day Garden Route escorted tour

Day 1 Tuesday: Pick up at about 08:15 on Tuesdays from central areas in air-conditioned small vehicle with professional accredited driver guide to escort the tour. Head north over the spectacular Du Toit's Kloof Mountain pass through Worcester, along Route 62 and through Montagu. We stop for a wine tasting and delicious lunch before we travel through the Karoo to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world and home to magnificent feather palaces.  Overnight at the 3* Protea Hotel by Marriott Oudtshoorn Riempie Estate Hotel (or similar).  Day 2 Wednesday: After a good breakfast we visit the world famous Cango Caves for a 1 hour guided tour before we visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch to view crocodiles, cheetah, tiger, lion, puma, and jaguar. Lunch is at an ostrich farm and includes optional ostrich delicacies. We tour the farm and learn interesting facts about ostriches.  The late afternoon takes us over the Outeniqua Mountains to Knysna. We’ll take a drive to the spectacular Knysna Heads where the ocean surges through the two sea cliffs to enter the magnificent lagoon. Get your camera ready! Our hotel tonight is on the water’s edge at the 4* Knysna Quays Hotel in Knysna (or similar).  Day 3 Thursday: You’ll enjoy the quaint village and the Knysna Waterfront before we depart on a guided boat trip (subject to weather conditions and boat sailing). Qualified skippers and guides are on board to ensure that your 2.5hr trip is as informative as it is unforgettable, ending with a picnic lunch.  We head to Mossel Bay to visit the Post Office Tree and Diaz museum. We spend a leisurely afternoon at the swimming pool or stroll along the beach before enjoying dinner, and overnight at the 4* Protea Hotel by Marriott Mossel Bay (or similar).  Day 4 Friday: Breakfast is at Botlierskop Private Game before we experience a 3-hour safari game drive in an open vehicle on the 3000-hectare reserve to look for Rhinos, Lions, Buffalos, Giraffes, Elephants, the rare Black Impala and many species of birds.  We enjoy lunch in historic Swellendam. If time allows we’ll stop at a local farm stall before heading back on the scenic route to Cape Town.
