After arriving at one of the park’s safari rest camps, meet your guide – a professional ranger – and then hop inside your 4x4 to begin the game drive around the famous park. In between learning about the different species of birds and animals from your guide, enjoy several photo stops to admire the park’s raw natural beauty as the sun brightens over the dramatic savannah plains. After a full morning exploring the park, stop at one of Kruger’s rest camps for lunch (for own account). Then, feeling refreshed and revitalized, meet back up with your ranger guide for your afternoon game drive around the park. If you failed to spot any of Africa’s famous Big Five on your morning’s adventure, then the afternoon is a great time to look for them. Hear all about the elephants, Cape buffaloes, lions, leopards and rhinos that comprise the elusive animal group, and learn how the phrase "Big Five" came to be coined by poachers who used the term to describe the most difficult animals to hunt on foot. Start your tour from Hazyview as it climbs towards the town of Graskop, and the southernmost point of the Blyde River Canyon. The Panorama Route encompasses some spectacular scenery, with breath-taking views of the Blyde River Canyon, and out over the endless Lowveld beyond. You'll go along the edge of the escarpment, to look out points offering magnificent views, including God’s Window, Wonderview and the Three Rondawels. Along the route we visit the famous Bourke’s Luck Potholes – deep cylindrical cavities formed by thousands of years of water erosion at the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers.               Pilgrim’s Rest is well worth a visit.
