Join us on a guided Kruger Park morning safari and a magical 3-hour excursion to Shiloh Coffee Estate near Hazyview, where ginger and coffee is grown and processed on the slopes of the mountains in the Sabie River Valley. KRUGER PARK MORNING SAFARI:We collect you in an open safari vehicle at the set pickup point at Perry’s Bridge in Hazyview. (Transfers from your hotel to the pickup point are available, please ask for a quote). Our guides are all local community members, qualified and registered according to regulations, with a wealth of knowledge of the area where they have grown up and live in, as well as the wildlife, cultures and customs of the local peoples. Our guides are selected for their safari expertise and knowledge of the area, the wildlife and their territorial and migratory habits according to season. After entering the gate (entry fees for your own account), we drive in search of game for about 2 hours. The early morning gives you a good start for your game viewing as the bush comes alive and animals become active, and start grazing and moving to the water holes before the heat of the day drives them to shelter in the shade of bush and trees. Then we stop at one of the camps in the Kruger National Park to enjoy breakfast (for your own account). Please remember to pre-arrange and collect your breakfast packs from your lodge if you have booked on a B&B basis, or you are welcome to bring with a picnic basket and enjoy your meal at a picnic spot. After breakfast we continue with our game viewing safari on our return journey to Hazyview. COFFEE AND GINGER ESTATE TOUR:After exiting the Kruger Park, we drive on to Shiloh Coffee and Ginger Estate, situated in the hills of the Sabie River Valley just outside Hazyview. After a short “freshening up” break, we go on a tour along the steep farm tracks in the Open Safari Vehicle to the coffee and ginger plantations high up in the hills. A fascinating talk by the estate owners will make you look at coffee and ginger with different eyes! We visit the huller and pulping stations and get to see the final products before returning to Shiloh Coffee Shop to relax on the terrace overlooking a large dam. Enjoy a coffee tasting with cake or quiche of the day, and browse in the shop where a large variety of the well-known Shiloh coffee and ginger products are on sale. For the return journey, we drive through the Shiloh Estate where some game may be seen, with stunning birdlife and great scenic photo opportunities, then go on a dirt road through the hills of Hazyview back to the pickup point at Perry’s Bridge. DURATION:approx 9 hours, including transfer timesNot available on Sundays and Mondays (except during Public and school holidays)
