My Fiancée and I will be in Ljubljana for six nights in mid August. We were wondering if Piran and the coastline were worth a trip? Also we wanted to visit lake bled and Vintgar Gorge. What would be the best means of transportation without renting a car? We would like other activity suggestions if there is any other must see places or places with excellent food in the area. We enjoy good food, nice views, history, and doing as the locals do. Thank you for your time!
I’ll be spending about a week in Slovenia this July/August - Ljubljana, Bovec, Bled. I’ve read of a bus that goes from Bovec through Vrsic Pass to Kranjska Gora and on to Ljubljana. I’d like to go this route but from Bled to Bovec but my question is, will this bus stop in Bled?
We are active seniors, 65 and 68. Our interests include history and architecture, nature walks, coffee shops and local food. Planning trip from Oct. 4-18, beginning and ending in Milan for round trip flight. Want to see Venice, Slovenia and Croatia. Our possible itinerary is this: Train from Milan to Treist day one, and the next day will be taking the Tram (if still running, otherwise taxi) to Opasina the next day and Train to Ljubljana, and on to Zagreb .
The question is, we have 6 days…
We have planned two weeks in Slovenia between the dates of September 21-October 6. I am excited, but starting to get a little panicky about the weather. I am specifically worried about the rain this time of year, and reports that rain sometimes sets in for days at a time.
Are we making a huge mistake? Would it be better to plan a trip for a different time of the year? If it is rainy, will it just rain for part of the day, or will it really rain for days at a time? What is the weather…
I'm off to Lake Bled soon and I'm working out my daily budget.
I have accom, breakfasts, a number of activities/trips and transportation all sorted.
I have to consider lunches, dinners and any other accidentals in my daily budget - and at the moment I've approx €65 per day. Does this seem reasonable or should I consider more?
Thanks so much
I would like to rent a byclicle for one day in Ljubljana in June - Is it possible
Any address where to rent
Which tour are worth doing with the bycicle?
Thx for answer
I will be spending 2 days in Ljubljana and going to Zadar either via Zagreb or direct would it be okay to purchase a ticket when I'm there 2 days prior to departure or would I have to pre book it.I take it is a popular route to Zagreb anyway I just dont know if I need to book in advance or not.
I plan to buy SIM of a Slovenian cellular provider that'll also work in neighboring EU countries.
I need some local call allowance to call hotels & taxi services. But data is of more importance, as I rely heavily on translation and mapping apps. And of course, network coverage must be good in remote rural area where I plan to trek.
So which one will be better?:
* Telemach - ŠE VEČ Euro 16/month
* A1 - SIMPL 1500 Euro 10/month
* Telecom Slovenije - Čvekaj Mobi Euro 7.95/month
Hi, heading to Slovenia, Croatia and a few Balkan countries in June and need to eat a strictly gluten-free diet. Any suggestions? Are there any local dishes that are naturally wheat free? Any suggestions for health food stores to buy supplies at?
Hello all. Im going to spend a weekend in Triglav in a week and am looking for some good day hikes. Ideally looking for 4-6 hours roundtrip, not overnighting with good views or something interesting otherwise to see. Will be spending Friday, Saturday and Sunday night there so have two full days. Only one I found so far that looked good was Krn lake.
Thanks in advance.
