This is an 8-hour trip around the Slovenian region of Kras, the land of prosciutto and a famous red wine called Teran. At least 3 wine tastings are included together with lunch and olive oil tasting. Try the dry-cured ham, Karst prosciutto, that melts in your mouth followed by a 30-minute guided tour of typical Karst village Štanjel and the Ferrari Gardens. You will have a great opportunity to buy local wine, wine liqueur, olive oil, and dry-cured ham (prosciutto) directly from the locals.
Pickup is in front of your hotel at 8:30am, followed by an approximate 50-minute drive to the village of Tomaj where you will visit the first wine cellar together with wine tasting and some food tasting.Then, visit several picturesque traditional villages built from stone, Štanjel, Komen, Šepulje, and Dobravlje. Each stop lasts between 20 to 30 minutes. The trip gives you an insight into the rich history of the area while allowing you to experience the genuine hospitality of the locals and taste the culinary specialties of this unique region. Visit another wine cellar after, with wine tasting and olive oil tasting. At the end you will visit typical local restaurant and try the local delicacies.
