Trying to make up my mind where to go trekking in the mountains (3-4 days) and when, would love your help with that.
where - Options are - High Tatras in Slovakia, Rila in Bulgaria, or Romania (not sure which specific range, need recommendations)
when - last week of June or Beginning - mid July.
1. Dramatic and scenic scenery .
2. Weather - when and where there is less chance for rain or\and clouds
3. Crowds - I heard that Tatras are crowded but we plan to go on mid…
Im looking for a trekking route recommendations for 3-4 days in the High Tatras for the upcoming days.
Im aware that many of the good trails are close till mid June (https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/europe-eastern-europe-the-caucasus/poland/hiking-the-tatras-in-early-may)
But still looking for some reccomendations.
I can also go to the Polish side but I read the Slovak one is more dramatic and scenic.
I have four extra days in central Europe coming up and I was thinking it might be nice to add an excursion to Slovakia along the way. I was thinking of going down to the Tatars Mountains from Krakow for three days (with a trip to Spis Castle somewhere in there) and then doing a day in Bratislava before continuing onto Vienna. I don't know how feasible this is, where I should stay in the Tatars, if Spis is easily accessible from there, how to get around (I would be relying on buses and trains)…
I read that there is, or used to be, a bus that meets every Wizz Air flight from London in to Poprad. Is this still running? If so when returning to the airport from the city from where and what time does it depart? My flight is at 16:55.
I'm looking to do a bit of hiking in the High Tatras mountains in mid-June after most of the trails open but it seems June is the rainiest month. Does anyone have any experience of hiking in this month? Don't know if it's best to go another time of year or not. Thanks!
I'm flying to budapest on the 26th December and I have to be in Krakow on the 30th. I'm thinking about doing Budapest - Poprad - Krakow. (Just 1 day in Budapest and taking a night bus to poprad).
I'll be taking buses around the cities and I plan to visit the Tatras Mountains in poprad of course.
Do you think that's a good plan?
Surrounded by popular countries like AT, CZ, HU and PL, why is SK so unpopular compared with them?
Most people simply visit Bratislava as a day trip from Vienna and that's all.
Is the rest of the country too unremarkable for mainstream travellers?
I came back a few days ago from a wonderful week in Slovakia that ended badly.
I returned the car to the office which was closed (although it was during the hours of operation). Two hours later, the car rental company accused me of false charges and said they would charge 300 euros.
On Facebook I read about similar cases related to car rental companies in Slovakia.
I wanted to know whether in Slovakia there is a government tourist office that handles such complaints.
thank you very much

Cant find a replacement in Bratislava so far
Any one know where I can get one for a Karrimor 60 litre pack?
Stranded here till I can get a replacement!!!!!!!!
We're visiting Slovakia the day after tomorrow, and in the 19th of August we'll have a full day to enjoy High Tatras from Poprad. We haven't book those 2 overnight yet, but that village sounds as the best place to explore such a stunning landscape.
I would like to see the lake of Štrbské Pleso, but I have no idea if we have also time enough to get to Lomnický štít or other wonders. How can we make the most out of our time and money in one full day, then?
We are interested in…
