Flights & getting there
About 15km south of the park's main entrance is the town of Kamakwie, an eight-hour journey from Freetown. There's no direct bus from Freetown to Kamakwie, so you'll have to take a bus (Le25,000) or poda poda (Le30,000) to Makeni and pick up onward transport there. The cheapest way from Kamakwie to the park is by okada. If coming by car, you'll have to cross the river at Kagboso by way of the Kabba Ferry – not a boat but a glorified raft used to winch you and you car across the river (Le5,000). It's then another 20km to the park campsite.
