Day 1: MAHE, EDEN ISLAND MARINA Our starting point is Eden Island Marina in the capital, Victoria. The largest city of the whole archipelago counts 60,000 inhabitants, but feels more like a paradise village. Arrival from Seychelles international airport to the marina will take you only 15 minutes (7 km). It really could not be closer.
Day 2: THERESA ISLAND A sailing path between coral reefs leads us out of the marina. Enjoying our first day under sail, we sail around the north tip of Mahe island. A few hours later, we arrive to Theresa island and drop anchor for the night. It is an uninhabited island! As stars come out, we feel that we are in paradise. And it’s only the beginning!
Day 3: SUNSET AT ANSE SOLEIL BAY Waking up to the sweet sound of tropical birds, setting the kettle for a coffee and tea and then diving straight into the sea from our yacht for a refreshing swim! Life at it’s most beautiful. Arriving at Lazare Bay, we stroll a wide open beach with overhanging palms. What do you say for sitting on the beach and admiring the sunset?
Days 4-5: LA DINGUE ISLAND
It’s time to sail further to the smaller islands of the Seychelles. From Mahe, we sail towards La Dingue, making a lot of sea miles that day! La Dingue is known as granite island and is mostly covered in tropical forest. There is also an enormous granite boulder which is a national monument. This monolith was formed around 750 million years ago.
Day 6: THE SISTERS In the evening, we drop anchor at The Sisters. It is a small island, but of superlative beauty. Palms? Great boulders on the beach? White sands? All that you associate with the Seychelles is here. Let’s enjoy!
Day 7: COCO ISLAND Coco island is one of the most impressive snorkelling spots. Coral reefs surround this heavenly place. Shallow turquoise sea, fringed by expanses of coral, provide the most breath taking experience.
Day 8: CURIEUSE ISLAND The whole island of Curieuse is a protected area which aims to conserve the rainforest, preserve the biodiversity and care for the 150 Giant Tortoises who call Curieuse their home! The trail from Bay Laraie to Anse José bay passes through thick mangrove forest and is one of the most breath-taking sites on the island.
Day 9: SILOUETTE ISLAND Being one of the richest biodiversity hot-spots in the Western Indian Ocean, Silhouette Island is another protected area of the Seychelles.
Day 10-11: MAHE, EDEN ISLAND MARINA
We arrive back in our host marina. Many memories and new friends made!
