One Week

Revel in three days of historic, cultural and culinary exploration in Belgrade, allowing for at least one night of hitting the capital's legendary night spots. Carry on to the northern province of Vojvodina to soak up Novi Sad's laid-back, creative spirit, and take day trips to the welcoming vineyards and medieval monasteries in the rolling hills of Fruška Gora National Park and the baroque town of Sremski Karlovci.

Two Weeks

Follow the above itinerary, then complete the Vojvodina tour by heading north to the Hungarian border to admire the art nouveau architecture of Subotica. Next, explore southern Serbia's stunning scenery and historic heritage. Slice southwest to Tara National Park for rafting and kayaking on the Drina river or hop aboard the Šargan Eight vintage railway, en route to Turkish-flavoured Novi Pazar and the spectacular meanders of Uvac Canyon. Alternatively, head southeast via Djerdap National Park for some cycling along the Danube or a boat cruise through the Iron Gates gorge, followed by kafana cuisine of jazzy Niš and the eerie rock formations of Devil's Town.
