Mezestoran Dvorište

Mediterranean in Belgrade

You'll wonder how many folks stroll right by this unremarkable residential building in Belgrade, not knowing this lovely Mediterranean restaurant is hidden away behind, it as soon as you lay your eyes on the lovely courtyard (a lot, that's how many). The food – Greek-leaning but with Turkish and Italian peppered about – is excellent.

The sea bass pasta with dried tomatoes and capers is clean, unfussy and damn near perfect. The paputsakia (eggplant stuffed with vegetables and couscous) and hunkar begendi (beef stew on creamy eggplant puree) tugged at our taste buds as well. With wine from Crete and olive oil from the Peloponnese, their commitment is devout. That patio, though.
