Welcome to Upper Strathearn
Comrie is a cute little village that has played its part in the history of science – on its western edge stands Earthquake House, the world's first seismic observatory. There are many excellent local walks, a favourite being to the spectacular gorge and waterfall known as the Deil's Cauldron, 1 mile north of the village.
St Fillans enjoys a scenic location at the eastern end of Loch Earn, which reflects the silhouettes of surrounding peaks. The loch has good fishing for brown trout and pike – you can buy permits (£11 for one day) from the village shop in St Fillans.
