Tour description provided by Viator

Our Inverness Outlander-inspired walking tour will give you a fascinating insight into what life was really like when Claire first visited the town in 1946, how it had changed by 1968 and what she would have experienced when she was transported back to the 1740s.
The tour will reveal what life was really like during the 1740s, when the Battle of Culloden took place.  It looks at people’s everyday lives, crime, punishment and trade; all wrapped up in a plaid of clan history, local myths and legends. This fascinating tour will immerse you into eighteenth century Inverness and how it has changed over the centuries to the bustling city of today. Our Outlander tour is led by a passionate local tour guide, who will captivate you by weaving the fictional tales of Outlander alongside the historical reality of life in Inverness. The tour takes around two hours and highlights along the way include: Inverness Castle; the High Street; Inverness Townhouse; Abertarff House;  Dunbar's Hospital; The Old High Church; the River Ness and its historic bridges; Balnain House; West Church; St Mary's Catholic Church and the Clachnacuddin Stone.
