In deep wilderness near Croick, this lodge is part of a notable rewilding project. The main lodge (which includes meals) is, in summer, for entire hire only (it sleeps 12 to 14). Individual rooms are available in low season. Smaller buildings – a farmhouse and cottages – accommodate up to four on a self-catering basis. The scope for outdoor activity here is superb.

Alladale Lodge is a Victorian manor offering fully serviced and catered accommodation by in-house chef Thomas Park, who focuses on Scottish cuisine. The Alladale Wilderness Reserve offers numerous sporting. Guests can enjoy complimentary mountain biking, hiking and wildlife watching, as well as whiskey tasting and various massage treatments. Further outdoor activities include clay pigeon shooting, seasonal fly fishing and wild swimming. The Royal Dornoch Golf Course is just 20 miles away. Off-site activities include chauffeured day trips to Dornoch Castle, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Whiskey distillery tours and helicopter tours of The Highlands can also be arranged.
