The grid layout and pedestrian streets of the city centre make it easy to get around, and there are numerous cafes and pubs that make good pit stops between attractions. You may want to mentally divide the downtown area into an eastern and western half. There's more to see in the west, with the Glasgow School of Art and the Bath and Sauchiehall Sts nightlife key drawcards, but the east has more urban energy and life on the street. Quality restaurants and cafes are scattered through the whole area and there are numerous cultural venues.
