Sights

The area's key sights are bunched together in the northern part of this neighbourhood. Here you'll find Glasgow Cathedral, the necropolis, St Mungo's Museum of Religious Life & Art and Provand's Lordship all within a few paces of each other and all free to visit.

The Tennent's brewery is just down the hill from here, while the People's Palace sits on Glasgow Green in the south of the East End, not far from the Clyde.

Sleeping

There aren't many standout sleeping options in the East End, but it's easy to walk here from digs in Merchant City or Central Glasgow.

Eating

Up-and-coming Dennistoun has some appealing eating options, while the Barras market holds a standout seafood restaurant. Look out for the monthly farmers market there too.

Shopping

East End shopping is focused on the Barras, which opens at weekends and offers both vintage wares and modern art and design. There are also regular monthly markets here.
