The area is home to around 50% of all Scottish whisky distilleries, so there's almost too much to see and drink. Let your experienced driver-guide help you get the most out of the region by taking you to two distinct distilleries. It's a chance to learn about the incredible history, process, and flavors of Scotland's national drink. And if you're not a whisky lover, there's gorgeous scenery and a chance to explore the ruins of a stunning 12th century castle.There will be time for lunch on this full-day tour, however it is not included in the price. Please note that entrance fees for the distilleries are also not included.
The tour starts in the Inverness City Center at 9.15am where you will head to our first distillery of the day, in the comfort of a luxury, 16 seat mini-coach. Arriving at approximately 10:30am, the Benromach Distillery tour (approx. price £6) will teach you about the ancient process used to make whisky and offer you a chance to take an early morning dram.The next stop is Elgin, where you arrive at approximately 12:30pm and can have lunch, explore the ruins of Elgin Cathedral (approx. price £7.50), and look for whisky gifts at a world famous whisky shop.After lunch, at approximately 2pm, you will head to Glenfiddich Distillery (approx. price £10). You have the option to either do a distillery tour or view the nearby Balvenie Castle (approx. price £5). The distillery tour last approximately 1.5 hours.On your final leg of the journey to Inverness, you'll have a photo-stop at the Speyside Cooperage, one of the largest concentrations of whisky casks you'll ever see. You will arrive back in Inverness at approximately 6.30pm.
