We will propose an outline itinerary but this is your tour, and you make the decisions as to what you want to see and for how long.
ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productPass By: Cromarty Firth Port Authority, Invergordon, UKHeading north, we will go over Struie Hill to the spectacularly named Million Dollar View which lives up to its name. From there we’ll head to Falls of Shin which is famous for being one of the best places in Scotland to watch the salmon leaping upstream. From there we’ll head to Dunrobin Castle (entrance payable) where you can witness a spectacular falconry display.From there we’ll head down Loch Fleet and onto the historic Burgh of Dornoch. Next up is Edderton Old Church where you can see the Celtic Cross Slab (a Pictish standing stone), and then onto the Collegiate Church in Tain where you can experience hundreds of years of history including Viking burials! We will also be passing close by Balblair, Glenmorangie, and Dalmore Distilleries, so if the water of life (whisky) is of more interest to you than ancient history, we can take substitute these in your itinerary as you wish. We’ll then be heading back towards Invergordon Cruise Port and your liner.This is a suggested itinerary, however as you are booking the driver and the vehicle for the day, additional time can be added to the tour and the itinerary can be adjusted as you’d like. Stop At: Struie Hill ViewpointWe will head out north from Invergordon to the viewpoint from Struie Hill, also called "Million Dollar View".Duration: 15 minutesStop At: Falls of Shin, Lairg, Caithness and Sutherland, Scottish Highlands, ScotlandBetween May and September, the Falls of Shin visitor attraction offers one of the best places in Scotland to see salmon leaping upstream. Throughout the summer, salmon return from the ocean, up the Dornoch Firth and Kyle of Sutherland to attempt to reach their spawning ground. Before they reach this, they must get past the waterfall on the River Shin. From the viewing platform, you can watch as they try to get up the river as well as enjoying the views up and down the river.Duration: 45 minutesStop At: Dunrobin Castle and Gardens, Golspie, Caithness and Sutherland, Scottish Highlands, ScotlandResembling a French Chateau, this castle can be best described as like something out of a fairy tale. It originally dates back to the 1300s and has gone through a number of changes and additions through the centuries. Ticket prices includes entry to falconry display, museum and gardens.Duration: 1 hourStop At: Loch Fleet, Dornock, Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, ScotlandAs we head down Loch Fleet towards the historic Burgh of Dornoch, you have the potential to see harbour seals hauled out on the beach. We will go from here to the Edderton Old Parish Church where within the graveyard stands the Edderton Pictish Cross Slab dating to the 9th century AD. It is made of sandstone, stands six feet three inches high, and is carved in high relief on both sides. From here we will head onto St Duthus's Collegiate Church in Tain where you can experience hundreds of years of history including Viking burials.Duration: 1 hourStop At: Balblair Distillery, Edderton, Tain, Ross and Cromarty, Scottish Highlands, ScotlandOPTIONALLY if you wish to substitute one of the items on the agenda, we can stop at Balblair Distillery instead.
