Welcome to Coll
The island's main attraction is the peace and quiet – empty beaches, bird-haunted coastlines, and long walks along the shore. The biggest and most beautiful sandy beaches are at Crossapol in the south, and Hogh Bay and Cliad on the west coast.
In summer the corncrake's 'krek-krek' is heard at the RSPB Coll at Totronald in the southwest of the island. From Totronald a sandy 4WD track runs north past the dunes backing Hogh Bay to the road at Totamore, allowing walkers and cyclists to make a circuit back to Arinagour rather than backtracking.
