Tour description

Visit the key locations that were used in the Outlaw King movie and hear the history of Scotland's attempt to secure its independence under the leadership of Robert the Bruce and previously by William Wallace. The tour starts with our first stop at Craigmillar Castle on the outskirts of Edinburgh doubling as the Bruce family castle. Then we will move onto Blackness Castle which doubled as Elizabeth's place of imprisonment. After a brief stop we will them head to nearby Linlithgow Palace which doubled as Scone Palace where Robert the Bruce was crowned King. From Linlithgow we will then make our way to Doune Castle which was used to represent the Douglas Castle inhabited by Bruce's closest lieutenant, James Douglas. Our final stop will take us Dunfermline Abbey and Palace which doubled as Westminster and the memorable scenes of Edward I railing against the Scots. In reality, however, Dunfermline Abbey is the true resting place of Robert the Bruce and many other Scottish monarchs.
