The views and atmosphere of reaching the summit will make up for the efforts you put in.Your qualified mountain guide will be local to the area and will lead you safely through the mountains. All guides carry map and compass, GPS and mountain first aid kits and have a background in leading mountain walks throughout the world.
The day begins by meeting your guide at the trail head for your route. They will describe the route in detail giving you any route options for the day ahead. A safety briefing will be concluded by checking everyone has food and drink (please bring your own drinks, lunch and snacks) for day, appropriate weather proof clothing, midge repellent (June-September) and appropriate boots. We can advise about food and equipment prior to the event. Please inform your guide of any medical conditions which they may need to know about. All of our walks are challenging so a prompt start to the day is essential. Your guide will be an experienced mountain leader who knows the terrain and the technical difficulty ahead so can lead you at an appropriate pace for the day. There will be time for the guide to describe the landscape formation, geology, culture and wildlife as you walk along. Your guide is also your safety expert and will support you on more challenging or exposed sections of the route. The weather has an impact on mountain days. Please be aware this may affect the route taken by your guide. If you are booking the Fisherfield experience be aware this is a 2 day event and you will need to carry your own camping equipment and food into a base camp from where the group will set out to climb the six peaks of the area. We start our exploration of the Fisherfields from the village of Kinlochewe. You may need a guide for a route on a specific peak or you may want to visit several mountain ranges over a few days. Whatever your ambitions are – contact us and we will plan a guided mountain walking day to suit you.
