This is the flagship, 200-seat branch of the Ashvale, an award-winning fish-and-chip restaurant famed for its quality haddock. The Ashvale Whale – a 1lb fish fillet in batter (£12.45) – is a speciality; finish it off and you get a second one free (as if you'd want one by then!). It's 300m southwest of the west end of Union St.
