Getting to Saudi Arabia

Getting around Saudi Arabia

Transport in Saudi Arabia is reasonably priced and it's becoming much easier to get around without a private vehicle as public transport options expand.

Bus The cheapest and slowest option, but it has the widest network, serving many remote areas.

Air Increasingly cheaper and the quickest way to cover large distances. There are several regional airports around the country.

Train Reasonably priced and very comfortable, but there are only three lines. These are Riyadh–Dammam, Riyadh–Jauf, and Mecca–Medina via Jeddah.

Car The most popular choice for locals, and with cheap petrol here it's also popular with travellers as it allows access to many remote sights. There are reputable car-hire companies in all major towns and cities.
