Hi guys. I have another question about our forthcoming trip to Rwanda. In the Bradt guide it says you must confirm your return flight. I have never done this before in all the hundreds of flights I have done. Do we need to do it in reality and where/ how? We are flying with Brussels airlines. Thank you
Has anyone crossed the border from Cyangugu to Bukavu on their own? I am independently trying to get to Kahuzi Biega National Park and it seems like Kigali to Cuangugu shouldn't be an issue as there is plenty of information on that topic. However, after searching on the internet, there is absolutely no information (that I I can find) which mentions how to independently travel across the border to Bukavu. I am assuming there are mini buses or motor taxis (although not an option for…
Has anyone applied recently for an East Africa Tourist Visa through the Rwanda online system (IREMBO)?
I applied several weeks ago and have not had a confirmation that it has been accepted - when I log in to the tracking it says "awaiting payment", which isn't right as I applied to pay on arrival. The chat support (which used to be very good) isn't available and they don't answer their support email.
Anyone had a similar thing or have any ideas? Thanks!
We're trying to decide whether to make the trip to nyungwe or not. We have been in Uganda for a month and tracked chimpanzees in Kibale, gorillas in Bwindi, golden monkeys in Mgahinga, kalinzu forest for more chimps coz we loved it so much!!! We went to Queen Elizabeth national Park and murchison falls, sipi falls, we've done canopy walks in Costa Rica.
We're trying to decide if nyungwe offers something new to this. If so we'll make the trek down there (we're currently on Lake kivu…
I will have 2.5 days and 2 nights in Rwanda at the end of March before I fly home after my volunteering trip. We had a plan with another volunteer to rent a car to self-drive and camp in Akagera, but he decided to take a package gorilla tour, which is too expensive for me. That left me hanging, since I'm not sure I want to drive alone (I read Rwanda is very safe, but I don't speak Kinyarwanda and getting lost or breaking down would not be ideal) and hiring a car, driver, tent…
As anyone here travelled to Akajera National Park on their own? How do you get there without a car? Or any suggestions welcome.
Travelling to Rwanda the first 2 weeks of April.
