Peterhof is the most famous suburb of Saint-Petersburg with marvellous parks, palaces and more than 150 original fountains dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Founded as a summer residence by Peter the Great, it became a favourite place of summer rest for many of his successors and was developed by the best architects, sculptors and artists of that time. During the WWII it was almost destroyed by the nazi who had been occupying the place for 28 months, but due to the effort and outstanding craftsmanship of soviet restorers it was rised from the ashes. The way to Peterhof goes through a picturesque area of the former noble's residences and gives you chance to feel the whole history of that place. You can get to Peterhof by car (about 1 hour) or by hydrofoil boat (about 40 minutes), or combine both means of transportation, which is always the best idea. During the tour we will visit the Peterhor Gardens and the Grand palace.
