Getting Around

Travellers exploring the Far East tend to stick to the train, going overland or taking ferries only when the railway tracks run out. Air travel is cheap, fast and reliable throughout the region, however, so it's always a good back up if you're bored of the scenic route or you don't have 24 hours to get to the next town on the line. The major domestic airlines serving the Russian Far East are Aeroflot, Aurora, S7 and Yakutia Airlines.
