Getting There & Away
Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk airports serve dozens of domestic and some foreign destinations, mostly in East Asia.
The Trans-Siberian Railway crosses the region, passing Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude and Chita. At Ulan-Ude it branches off towards Mongolia.
Traveling by car, you can enter East Siberia from Mongolia at Kyakhta. Another border crossing, located at Khandagayty in Tuva, was due to be open by the end of 2017 for nationals of third countries. The Zabaikalsk-Manzhouli crossing on the border between China Region and China is open for everyone.
