Sinaia has hotels in styles paying tribute to the region's palaces: think neo-Renaissance exteriors and regally decorated bedrooms. Sinaia caters well for the budget and midrange outdoorsy crowd too, as does ski-hike centre Predeal. Things get patchier in the Bucegi Mountains: while there is an increasing range of Alpine-themed lodges at low altitudes, hikers on longer treks must rely on barebones cabins (electricity and hot water not necessarily included).
