Welcome to the dark side of Bucharest. Close to the Old Town and even in the place where you are having fun in the evening, there are strange things happening. Be aware, there might be some uninvited “locals" joining us for this tour. As this place was inhabited more than 2000 years ago, the city has been a witness to many deaths, murders, mysteries and, if you pay attention, you will hear the voice of the underworld almost everywhere. The tour takes you to haunted houses and places and tells you the relevant stories from the history of Bucharest. Fear not, cause Bucharest has also positive stories with gods, good ghosts and other mysteries. Oh…let’s not forget Dracula, he also seems to be present here, given his very strong connection with the city and its past.
Your guide, a professional actor, will meet you in front of the National Theatre when you will find stories about the legendary beginning of Bucharest as a city. Next, you will see the so called “House of the Devil" to find out why it received the name and will continue through an old neighbourhood to be told the stories about the tunnels of time found under the city and of the “vampire of Bucharest” in the 70s. You will exit close to Rosetti Square where, if you come later in the night, you might be able to get the ghost bus to the ““Gara de Nord" station, but since we plan to tell you more, we will not wait for the bus, but continue to tell you about the secret tunnels where the Titans are locked and, yes, they are here. We will soon enter the Old Town to find out about the spirits of the deads there, either burnt in the great fire of 1847 or children tortured in an orphanage. We will not miss the story of Dracula, whose spirit can be seen sometimes haunting the ruins of the Old Princely Court. But no more secrets revealed! The tour will end in the Old Town where you can easily recover from the horror of the stories you found out. Just make sure you don’t linger in the haunted areas we showed you earlier.
