The carnival of Rio de Janeiro happens since 1892, being considered the largest carnival in the world by the Book of Records. Idealized from 1999, the City of Samba was built to house all carnival preparation of the Samba Schools of Rio. The complex has an area of 130 thousand m², where are the barracks of 12 schools. In this route, you will visit the space of the Academicians of the Great River, who in 2006, 2007 and 2010 was runner-up of the Carnival Special Group.
Rio de Janeiro is known worldwide as the country of Carnival. But, do you know any samba school or are you already interested in it? On this tour you will have the opportunity to stroll behind the scenes of this huge party. In a journey of approximately 90 minutes through the City of Samba you will visit the shed of the Academics of the Great River, one of the main Samba Schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro.During the visit, you will also go in the showroom, which tells you a little about the history of samba and Carnival parades. There, the costumes will be available to anyone who wants to dress them or even photograph them (with the permission of the guides or producers). In addition, you will get a welcome caipirinha.
