Walking around the center of Rio awakens a mixture of different feelings. It’s a place which allows you to understand our history, and whose work environment gives you a real sense of what it means to be carioca (a native of Rio). Each street corner has its own charm or story to tell. There’s so much here that it’s almost impossible to describe all of it. The walk itself takes 3 hours, with various stops along the way.
Get some comfortable walking shoes ready and come and immerse yourself in the history of Rio and Brazil. Stops along the route are full of intrigue, beauty, and evoke all kinds of emotions. We begin at Cinelândia in front of the Municipal Theatre before going on to the Metropolitan Cathedral, Praça Tiradentes, the Real Gabinete Portugues Library and Cultural Centre (entering when open), the Confeitaria Colombo (which we pop into for a coffee and and legendary snack when open), Largo da Carioca, Praça XV, Rio’s Old Town and ending at the CCBB Cultural Centre.
