Republic of Congo in detail

Food is unlikely to be a highlight of your visit to Congo, but if you eat out in Brazzaville or Pointe-Noire you'll have a good choice of local and international cuisines. Northern Congolese are meat eaters (sadly, very often bushmeat) while southern Congolese love their fish. Both eat their protein almost exclusively with cassava, though you will sometimes find yams or rice in restaurants. Vegetarians will have a tough time outside Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire.
