Bargaining is perfectly acceptable with Congolese taxi drivers and at the market, but it is not usually expected in shops. Hotels may also negotiate on lower room prices, but this is the exception rather than the rule.


Brazzaville has plentiful ATMs where international credit and debit cards can be used, as well as plenty of places to change money.


Most ATMs have security guards, making them perfectly safe to use.

BGFI Bank Has an ATM.

Crédit du Congo Has an ATM that accepts international Visa cards.

Ecobank Has an ATM and changes foreign currencies.
