Hi all,

I'm a student of Arts Administration from Boston. I'm planning to head to San Juan in the third week of May. Was wondering if anyone might be thinking of doing the same. I'm on a back-packer budget and would love company. Local experiences and volunteering on the cards.

Any suggestions, tips and advice would be most welcome as well.

Thanks!!
Priya

Hi, I’m a little surprised to not see more postings on this subject post Maria. My husband, baby and I visited San Juan earlier this month for a four day weekend and had a great time. We are both seasoned travelers, but with a new baby we are staying state-side for now. I highly recommend at least visiting San Juan as they sure could use the tourist dollars. Everyone was very nice and appreciated our visiting.

Now, on to my reason for posting a query. I’m hoping to plan a bigger trip over…

Hi,

Does anyone know of any local rental car companies in Puerto Rico that definitely rent 4-wheel drive vehicles? I'm familiar with PR, lived there shortly. I know most of the island can be covered without 4-wheel drive but I am headed to a property in the mountains that absolutely needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle (it's not off-road, it's just so steep that you'd be crazy to drive it in the rain without 4 wheel drive).

It would be great to know of one rental company near San Juan and another…

Hurricane

Many have enjoyed this special island. Puerto Ricans have been demolished by the worst storm ever and there is so little we can do to help. I pray for those sleeping on their roofs tonight and hope rescue is - in time.....

We are visiting Puerto Rico for 5-6 days next month. Trying to decide what to do while we are there. I really want to go snorkeling but other outdoor and beach/ocean related activities would be cool.

I am trying to decide whether we should get a rental car (and stick to the mainland) or take a ferry to one of the islands (Culebras or even Virgin Islands?). Googling it seems the best beaches for snorkeling are in the islands, are they that much better than the beaches on the mainland? Will they…

Hi everyone again,

I am heading to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks and want to focus on improving my meager Spanish.

Any suggestions with schools with homesteads or even private tutors?

In advance, thank you.

Stephen

Hi - Hoping to get some RECENT information on how to book a flight on-line from Ceiba (RVR) to Vieques, then to Culebra, then to San Juan. We will be there between Christmas and New Years so high season and we can't be the only tourists who want to see both islands? Or should we fly to Vieques, ferry from Vieques to Culebra, then fly back to San Juan? Is it possible and can I buy tickets in advance? Several posts about flying but I can't figure out how to actually purchase the tickets…
