Getting There & Away

Regional trains go to and from Peso da Régua (€2.80, 25 minutes, five daily), where you can catch an onward train to Porto.

It's best to have your own wheels if you want to explore the area independently, as some of the best spots are not accessible by public transport. Street parking is straightforward, except on high-season weekends; look around the train station or down by the river (first left after passing the train station).
