Rail Bike Marvão

Outdoors in Marvão

New in 2018, this New Zealand–owned outfit offers scenic trips along a disused train line using customised, two-person pedal-powered rail bikes. You'll see cork and olive fields, farmhouse ruins and perhaps some wildlife. The four-hour trip takes you to the old train station of Castelo de Vide for a picnic lunch before making the return journey (32km return).

It's in Beirã, about 11km north of Marvão, and right next door to the Train Spot guesthouse.
