All buses stop at the Praça Valéncia de Alcántara. There are at least two daily services to Portalegre (morning and afternoon). Ask at the turismo for bus times.

The bus station is outside the city walls, on the road to Spain. It’s an 800m walk mostly uphill (or a €6 taxi ride) to the main praça.
Portalegre's train station is 12km south of the centre. A free shuttle bus provides transport from the station.
