The perfect day for those want something different during your days in Lisbon, this is an excellent option, visit and tasting to a local winery, traditional tile factory all this in one of the most beautiful parks in Portugal, in Azeitao.
Will start our day crossing the 25th of April suspension bridge named after the Portuguese “carnations” revolution in 1974, and visit one of the most charismatic fisherman’s villages in Portugal, Sesimbra, known for its excellent seafood restaurants and tits moorish Castle.
Next on our tour, we cross the Arrabida natural Park, with the stunning views over the the spectacular peninsula of Troia and Sado river estuary, a wall of green sticking out over the Atlantic, the hills offer shelter to small coves of soft white sand where, despite being on the edge of the ocean, the sea is almost free of waves. Here there is a resident colony of wild dolphins.
In Azeitao, at “Jose Maria of the Fonseca” winery, known worldwide for the wines like LANCERS, PIRIQUITA, etc.. Time now to visit the wine cellar and taste their superb wines.
Still in the village of Azeitao will visit one of the best artisan ceramic tile plants, where faithful tile copies of the XVI, XVII, XVIII centuries are made, and learn the complete tile making process, if you wish you can try to make your own tile.
Next on our tour we visit the city of Setubal where its Port is still considered one of the Portuguese major ports, according the time spend we can visit its fort build on the 16th century.
Returning to Lisbon crossing the Vasco da Gama bridge the longest in Europe with 17.300 meters (10.812 miles).
