Hi, I am flying into Poland on May 30th for a 2 week trip. I don’t do a lot of planning before I travel but I was thinking about going to Warsaw, Krakow and Gdansk with a side trip to the Wolf’s Lair. I am coming from London. And had been thinking about flying into Gdansk and out of Krakow. I now realize that the 31st is Corpus Christi. When traveling I find big celebrations fascinating. I was wondering if I should either:
1) Stick with my plan and spend Corpus Christi in Gdansk.
Looking for a good beach. Preferably with a small town to stay in. Traveling with my 9 yr old daughter looking for a place to take a break for her in our travels, so it should be kid friendly. Thanks!
Hi fellow travelers. I have just recently come back from what was quite an interesting weekend in the Northern Polish city of Gdansk and wanted to share my experiences with you. Please follow the below link and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave any feedback . Cheers :)
I'm travelling across Poland at the end of May for a week, coming in from Berlin to Gdansk via Torun, then plotting a course cross country to eventually get to Villnius in Lithuania. I'm travelling by train.
I'd planned originally to visit Bialoweiza forest, but find Augustow is on the train route to Villnius and also on the edge of a huge primeval forest. Given I'd be looking at a day's hiking or cycling, I'd be very interested to hear people's opinions on whether it's worthwhile to…
I'm visiting Poland with my wife this August. Looking forward to it. 4 days Krakow, 2 days Warsaw and the other 3 we want to get to and from and Wolsztyn to see the large steam trains in operation. I'm hoping someone here knows about this and can tell me a few things please :)
1. We would prefer to book accommodation in Wolsztyn for 2 nights but there doesn't seem to be any available place near the trains. So maybe we will stay in Leszno at the other end of the line where there are some hotels…
Does anybody know if there are ticket vending machines in the arrival Hall (Chopin Airport) where I can buy a 3 day transport pass? I will arrive in the airport at midnight ... so I suppose the passenger service centre is not open at this time ! Thanks again.
I know for the Auschwitz Museum is it necessary to make a booking in advance ... but is it also necessary for the Birkenau camp ? How much it cost to visit Birkenau Camp or is it free ? Is there any local transport availlable from Oswiecim trainstation to Birkenau Camp ? Thanks
