Flights & getting there
Łódź' airport is 6km southwest of the city centre. It's serviced by Lufthansa (Munich) and Ryanair (London Stansted, East Midlands and Dublin and Athens).
Łódź Fabryczna bus station is located next to Łódź Fabryczna train station, but not all bus operators use it; some intercity services depart from the bus terminal outside Łódź Kaliska train station to the west of the city centre.
FlixBus (www.flixbus.com) operates services from Łódź Fabryczna to Warsaw (24zł, two hours, several daily), Poznań (30zł, three hours, several daily), Wrocław (30zł, 3¼ hours, several daily) and Kraków (45zł, 4½ hours, several daily). Book early for lower fares.
Deutsche Bahn (www.bahn.com) operates an overnight bus service between Berlin and Łódź Kaliska (from 15zł to 65zł, 6½ hours).
The city's most central train station, Łódź Fabryczna, is architecturally stunning after a massive reconstruction project. There are fast and frequent services to Warsaw (31zł, 90 minutes).
Łódź Kaliska serves trains to Łowicz (25zł, one hour, hourly), Kraków (80zł, four to five hours, five daily; via Warsaw), Wrocław (from 33zł, five hours, one daily) and Poznań (from 33zł, 4¼ hours, four daily).
