Longting Park

Henan

Site of the former imperial palace, this park is mostly gardens and a lake, into which hardy swimmers plunge in winter. Reached by a bridge, you can climb the namesake Dragon Pavilion (龙亭, Lóng Tíng) for a sense of the former palace's grandeur.

The spectacular Chrysanthemum Festival is held here in October.
