Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz

Berlin

This venerable 'people's theatre' opened in 1914 and was known for its nonconformist, radical and provocative productions under its long-time director Frank Castorf. After its controversial new director Chris Dercon quit in April 2018 after only nine months on the job, the Volksbühne's direction and fate are up in the air – for now.
