A sure sign of gentrification occurring in Padang's crumbling old quarter is this glossy bistro in an attractive old colonial building. Inside is a polished affair with marble-top bar, cathedral windows and exposed brick, to match a contemporary menu of Taiwanese popcorn chicken, burgers, nourishment bowls and spaghetti with clams. Good coffees and cold beer, too.
